Ayatul KursiEnglish Translation:
“There is no god but Allah, He is the Living, the Sustainer of all things.
He cannot be touched by drowsiness or sleep.
To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth.
Who are you to recommend to him without his permission?
He knows everything that is in front of or behind the eyes.
They cannot encompass anything beyond His knowledge, but as much as He wills.
His throne encompasses the heavens and the earth.
And it is not difficult for him to contain them.
He is the Highest and the Greatest. ”
[Surah Al-Baqarah, verse: 255]
Virtues & Benefits of Reciting Ayatul Kursi:
According to a Saheeh hadith, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked Ubayy ibn Kaab: O Abul Munzir! Which verse of Kitabullah is the greatest to you? I say: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) asked that question again. Then I say: (Allahu la-ilaha illa huwal haiyul qayyum). Then the Prophet slapped me on the chest and said, by Allah! O Abul Munzir! Thank you for making this knowledge easy for you.
[Sahih Muslim Hadith No. 610]
It is narrated on the authority of Ubayy ibn Ka’b (may Allaah be pleased with him) that he said: Once the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, “O Abu Munzir! Do you know which is the greatest (dignified) verse that you have memorized in the Book of Allah (Al-Quran)? ” I said, ‘That is Ayatul Kursi.’ So he slapped my chest and said, “Abul Munzir! May your knowledge bless you. ”
(That is, thank you for finding that verse with the blessing of your knowledge.)
[Muslim-610 Abu Dawood-1480 Muwatta Malik-18]
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “Whoever recites the Ayatul Kursi at the end of the obligatory prayer, nothing will prevent him from entering Paradise except death.”
[Sahih Al Jame]
Ayat Al Kursi Benefit in the lesson while sleeping:
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah Radhiyallahu Anhu that he said, “Once (the Messenger of Allah gave me the responsibility of looking after the zakat of Ramadan.” In fact, (while I was guarding) a visitor came and started taking food. I grabbed him and said, ‘I will definitely present you to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.’ He pleaded, ‘I am a truly needy one. The responsibility of feeding the family is on me, I am in dire need. ‘
So I let him go. In the morning I came to the Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, “O Abu Hurairah! What did your prisoner do last night? ” I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! he complained of her lack and (helpless) family-children. So if I have mercy on him, I will let him go. ‘He said,’ Be careful, he will come again.
I heard a similar statement from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and I was sure that he would come again. So I waited for him. He (as before) came and began to take food filled with Anjala. I said to him, ‘Of course I will present you to the Messenger of Allah. He said, ‘I am needy, the responsibility of the family is on me, (leave me) I will not come again.’ So I felt pity. I let him go.
I woke up in the morning (when I went to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and the Messenger of Allah said to me, “Abu Hurairah! What did your prisoner do last night? ” I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! He complained of his lack and helpless children. So if I feel sorry for him, I will let him go. ‘He said,’ Be careful, he will come again.
So I waited for him for the third time. He (came) began to take food full of Anjala. I grabbed him and said, “This time I will bring you to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).” This is the last time three times. You came back saying ‘I won’t come back. ” He said, “Leave me alone, I will teach you some words by which Allah will benefit you.”
I said, ‘What are those?’ He said, ‘When you go to bed (to sleep), then Ayatul Kursi recites the chair (sleep). Then a guardian will be appointed for you from Allah and the devil will not come to you until morning.
So I let him go. Again in the morning (I went to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace). He said to me, “What has your prisoner done?” I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! He said, “I will teach you some words by which Allah will bless me.” So I let him go. ‘He said,’ What are those words? I said, ‘He told me, When you go to bed, Ayatul Kursi will recite ‘Allahu la ilaha illa huwal haiyul qayyum’ from beginning to end. ” He further told me, “Because of him, there will always be a guardian for you from Allah and Satan will not come to you until morning. ”
On hearing this, the Messenger of Allah said, “Listen! He himself is a great liar, But he told you the truth. O Abu Hurairah! Do you know who you have been talking to for three nights? ” I said, ‘No.’ He said, ‘He was the devil. [Bukhari]
Ayatul Kursi protects from the evil of Satan:
It is narrated on the authority of Ubayy ibn Ka’b (may Allah be pleased with him) that he had a bag of dates. Gradually the dates kept decreasing. One night he guards. Suddenly like an animal like a young man! He greets her. He answers the salutation. He said, what are you? Jinn or man? He says Jinn. Ubayy Radiyallahu Anhu said I see your hand. He gives her his hand. His hand was like a dog’s hand and his hair was like a dog’s hair. He said it was Jinnah’s look. He (the beast) says: I am the bravest of them all with the Jinn community.
He said, what is the reason for your coming? He says: We heard you like donation, so I came to get some donated food. The Companions said, What is the way to get rid of you? He says This verse of Surah Al-Baqarah (Allahu la ilaha illallah hual hayyul qayyum). The person who reads it in the evening will be saved from us until the morning. And whoever reads it in the morning will be safe from us till evening. In the morning he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and reported the incident. The Messenger of Allah said, “Khabees has told the truth.” [Nasai and Tabarani]
